Footprints

One night a man had a dream.
He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Scenes from his life flashed across the sky
and he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
one belonging to him and the other to the Lord.
When the last scene of his life had flashed before him,
he recalled that at the lowest and saddest times of his life
there was only one set of footprints.
Dismayed, he asked, "Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you,
you'd walk with me all the way.
I don't understand why, when I needed you most,
you would leave me."
The Lord replied, "My precious child.
I love you and I would never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffering
when you saw only one set of footprints...
That was when I carried you."

I wish you were God

I wish you were God in the deepest site of my being.

In the ocean while the waves crash on the shore like they do in my heart, I wish you were God.

When I fall and have no idea where, when, or even how to get up, I wish you were God.

In the deepest pain, when I am too tired to seek, I wish you were God.

I wish you were Him in the depth of my despair.

but though I wish and pray it will never occur.

I thank Him for you in a different way.

I now have to learn you will never be Him.

I have to seek him in order to love you,

I have to love him in order to know how small

you are,

but i thank him for you from the bottom of my heart

though I wish you were God you will never be it, but special to me, you precious will always be!
